Ch-14 Changing Daily Life

My school life has become a little more comfortable, but in contrast, the overall atmosphere at school seems to have changed slightly.

Everyone's still talking and laughing as usual, but there's an underlying tension in the air.

Clang!

"Hi..."

"Sorry. I dropped it."

More and more students flinched or reacted nervously to sudden, unusual noises.

In the past, no one would have cared, or even laughed.

What was once just something we saw on the news has now become part of our reality. Things have changed.

As someone who has faced goblins, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't afraid of them. But maybe because I've been lucky enough to defeat one, or maybe because my stats have improved after leveling up, I don't feel as afraid as the others.

It's the weekend and I have no plans, so I decide to go shopping with Himawari.

While my school life has changed, for better or worse, my daily life remains mostly the same.

I still spend time with my family or hang out with friends occasionally.

My parents tell me to study, but I just can't bring myself to concentrate, even on my days off.

"Is there anything you want?"

"Actually, I want some clothes, Okaasan says no."

"Well, you just bought some clothes the other day."

"Next time I want a dress."

"How much does it cost?"

"About 5,000 to 10,000 yen."

"Yeah, I can't do that. I don't have that kind of money."

"Onii-chan is stingy."

"No, buy it with your own allowance."

"But I have so many other expenses! I can't spend money on clothes."

"That's why..."

I know Himawari is growing up, but it seems like she gets a lot more than I do.

I've never bought 10,000 yen worth of clothes for myself.

"Girls cost a lot of money."

"Oh, I see. Well, we're just window-shopping today."

"Stingy. You know, maybe you can sell the leftover meat you win from Gacha. There's always plenty left over."

"No, that's not possible. I'd be responsible if someone got food poisoning or something."

"What if you sell it cheap with a 'no complaints, no returns' policy?"

"Uh... what about the place of origin?"

"Fake it?"

"No, absolutely not."

I'm starting to worry that Himawari might turn into a mischievous girl. Her ideas make me nervous about her future.

"Well, at least I'll buy you lunch."

"Okaasan gives me money for lunch, so it's okay."

"Eh... I haven't gotten anything yet."

"That's because you didn't ask."

"No way..."

My mother's favoritism is painful.

Even though she must have known that I was going out with Himawari, she didn't think to give me anything.

I doubt I'll ever get an allowance from Gacha.

Even if I did, it would be a problem if it turned out to be fake money. That would definitely cause trouble, so I shouldn't rely on it.
