Ch-18 Goblin Drop!

Looking back at where the goblins had disappeared, I noticed a magic stone lying there, just like the one I got from my previous gacha.

"Could this have been left by a goblin?"

"Probably not."

"Do monsters leave magic stones behind when you defeat them? But there were three of them and only one stone."

"That happens in games and stuff, right? They drop things. And maybe they drop things other than magic stones. Stronger monsters might drop rare items or something."

"Himawari, don't get too cocky."

"Yes."

"More importantly, what is your status? Has you leveled up?"

"Hmm, too bad. It looks like I haven't leveled up yet."

"Is that so?"

I assumed that since I had defeated three of them, I would have leveled up, but that didn't seem to be the case.

Maybe there are individual differences.

Well, maybe I was just the kind of person who got excited easily.

Even though Himawari had done most of the fighting, the circumstances under which she killed the goblin weren't much different from the last time, although this time it was much smoother.

Maybe I'm getting stronger.

I don't know if I'm strong enough to fight a goblin head on and win, but it can't hurt to get stronger.

When I got home, I looked up goblin drops on my smartphone.

As expected, it seems that goblins sometimes drop items.

It doesn't seem to be limited to goblins, but for now it seems that the only thing goblins drop are magic stones.

And there are two important points here.

First, as for what the magic stones are, they seem to be some sort of mass of energy, and many scientists are currently researching how to harness the energy contained within them.

Second, and most importantly, can magic stones be sold?

The answer was nuanced.

The conclusion is that magical stones are for sale.

In fact, it seems that they're in high demand.

The price of a goblin magic stone is around 15,000 yen.

I don't know if that's high or low, but that's the purchase price, so it's a big deal for me as a high school student.

However, there was one problem.

Only Saber will buy it.

This is apparently due to the pretense of not wanting to buy stolen goods or items from suspicious sources, as well as the practical reason of encouraging Saber registrations.

In other words, if things stay as they are now, the magic stones I have in my hands will just be pretty stones and won't make any money.

I currently have two magic stones.

In other words, they're worth 30,000 yen, but I can't sell them unless I become a Saber.

It wouldn't be impossible to ask someone like Omae for help, but there would definitely be suspicions about where I got them from.

For now, it looks like there's nothing I can do about it, so I'll just have to put them away.

I don't really want to encounter monsters, but if I end up fighting them in the future and collect more magic stones, I'll have to seriously consider what to do then.
