Ch-9 Goblins

Fortunately, a week had passed since Omae became a Saber without any monsters appearing near the school.

Since becoming a Saber, Omae has been treated as the hero of the class. He has money, is wealthy, and seems to hang out with the girls in our class every day after school.

I'm a guy too. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't jealous, but there's nothing I can do about it. My ability is Gacha.

The only thing keeping me sane right now is the fact that Kagurazaka, the most popular girl in the class, isn't hitting on Omae.

I don't have any special feelings for Kagurazaka-san, but cute is cute.

"Bang!"

Suddenly, the sound of a window breaking echoed through the building.

"Aaaaaahhhh!"

"It's here! It came out!"

"Run!"

"It's a goblin!"

A scream came from the floor below.

Seriously? Goblins finally showed up at school?

"Omae-kun!"

"Oh, yeah. Leave it to me. I'm a Saber. I'll handle this."

"As expected from a Saber."

"Well, leave it to me."

With that, Omae rushed out of the classroom.

What should I do? Should I run away? But since Omae already went there, is it okay to stay?

I couldn't decide what to do, but the rest of the class remained calm, perhaps trusting Omae to handle it.

"How unfortunate of you to show up where I am! Take this!"

"Crash!"

It sounded as if the battle had begun. Along with the screams of the students, I could hear Omae's voice and the sound of something breaking.

"Mikado, are you okay?"

"I wonder... I think it's best to prepare to escape."

"That's right."

Just to be safe, I prepared to flee, but the fighting continued on the floor below as Omae's voice rang out.

"Damn it! Don't move! Take this!"

'Ugh."

"Don't come any closer!"

Judging by his voice, Omae seemed to be struggling.

Just as I thought it was time to run, the classroom window shattered and it appeared.

"Goblin..."

My thoughts froze for a moment.

Why is there a goblin here? Omae is still fighting. Then why?

"Uuuuuuuuuuaaaaaah!"

"Giiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!"

"There it is!"

"Omae-kun, Omae-kun, help me!"

Chaos broke out in the classroom.

The students screamed and tried to run, but those near the windows weren't fast enough. The goblin grabbed one of them and threw him aside like a rag doll.

"Guuuuuh, that hurts..."

The goblin was only about the size of an elementary school student, but it easily threw Hamada across the room.

Even though it's small, it's still a monster!

Seeing Hamada thrown aside, the students near the door bolted, and the others followed in a panicked rush.

"Noooooo!"

The goblin walked slowly into the center of the classroom, scanning the area.

I searched for a way to escape, but since it was a monster, it was probably faster than me. To be caught in its sight would be disastrous.

I held my breath and watched its movements carefully.

It was the first time I had seen a real monster. It was small, ugly, and terrifying - a grim reminder of my mortality.

I can't die here. I have to get out, no matter what.
